Thieves steal lead from St. Lukes roof.
Thieves steal lead from St. Lukes roof.

At some point after dark on the evening of Tuesday 22nd April thieves drove a vehicle up to the Church on the green at the centre of Netherne Village.

Lead was then stripped from around the edge of the roof resulting in rain getting in and running down the inside walls of the building and causing damage to the recently refurbished church which is now a private leisure facility.

If you were in this area or live close to the green, did you see a vehicle being driven through the gates up to the church? The quantity and weight of lead stolen would suggest that a van or lorry would have been used.

Information on possible sightings should be reported to the Estate Manager, Nic Primarolo on 0777 929 8339
or reported directly to PCSO Karen Hughes on 0845 125 2222 or her mobile 07967 988641
