“The Fantastic World of Patricia King” – retrospective exhibition
Quirky ceramics, Marvellous Miniatures, Paintings and Pictures, ‘Orrible Odes.
To celebrate her 80th birthday Patricia King is holding a retrospective exhibition of her lifes work of pottery, craft, paintings, poems and more! Patricia King was born in 1928 and studied Art Pottery and Stage Design at Harrow school of art.
Her light hearted approach to art began to manifest itself when she taught art and pottery at Croydon and Kingston colleges. She went on to demonstrate her unusual way of making dolls house settings out of throw away items at craft fairs. She has published several books and many articles, magazine columns and photographs on the subject of her unique and exciting artistic style. The exhibition will contain a variety of her work spanning six decades including the ever popular “Rapunzel on a bad hair day”, “Ceramic Garden Dragons” and “Ode to a Silverfish” as well as many dolls house settings and artefacts, crafts, portraits, landscapes and ceramics. Come and see the arts and crafts which have brought joy to many, confusion to some and a lifetime of creativity to one very special artist!
